When it comes to a Teacher Appreciation gift idea, I like my kids to be involved in the process. After all, it’s for their teachers! And, I definitely want them to understand it’s important to think about, and be grateful for, how much time and effort teachers (including coaches/band directors/etc.), and support staff give to students.
We are blessed to be in a great school district with awesome teachers and staff! This year, we decided these keychains would be a fun gift to make to show our appreciation. I hope the teachers enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them.
The Tag Design:
I used Silhouette Studio to design the tags and used the Print & Cut feature to print then cut with my Silhouette Portrait 2. If you have a Silhouette, you can play around and create a cute design all your own!
Looking for a quick Teacher Appreciation gift idea? Don’t have a Silhouette, or don’t want to take the time to design a tag? Add this cute tag that we used to your own keychain. Grab the pdf version below, print on cardstock, punch a hole and thread it on the keychain!
This doesn’t just have to be for Teacher Appreciation Week. Use it for a Christmas or Birthday gift, or “just because”!
I’m working on follow-up posts with information on just how we created these keychains. Right now, I’m thinking it will be two separate posts – one for the metal tag, and one for the tassel.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope this gives you inspiration for your own project!
Here is the free pdf file that I mentioned. Download it and use for your own Teacher Appreciation gifts:
